Breed Rescues
Breed rescues are the number one source for good adult Chihuahuas. If you can’t adopt a Chi, please consider volunteering or making a donation to a local, regional, or national rescue.
Ways you can help include:
- Driving dogs to the veterinarian.
- Picking up donated food or collecting dog-food coupons.
- Providing specialized services such as website design or legal assistance.
Short on time? Consider making a financial contribution—Chihuahua rescues are always in need of funds to cover veterinary bills, food, and other supplies.

Keeping track of contact information for national, regional, and local rescues can be challenging, as websites and emails frequently change. To help with this, the Chihuahua Club of America elects a breed rescue referral representative to maintain an updated list of Chihuahua rescues.
